Lable behind the labels! Pieve Santa Restituta Brunello di Montalcino

在Toscana (Tuscany)，Gaja擁有兩個酒莊，在Bolgheri的Ca’Marcanda及Montalacino的Pieve Santa Restituta。在香港，好像比較多地方可以買到Ca’Marcanda，認識的人也較多。Pieve Santa Restituta的Brunello就不太常見！我想市場上願意喜歡"Super Tuscan"的人比Brunello di Montalcino多！
寫Pieve Santa Restituta的原因就是從研究這瓶Pieve Santa Restituta 1990 Brunello di Montalcino Rennina的Label開始：
先看看這個絕種的Label，從上至下看, Rennina是這瓶Brunello di Montalcino的名稱，Rennina是以酒莊不同田的葡萄釀造(混合葡萄釀造都有名稱是不常見的)。然後，看到是DOCG的全寫和葡萄的年份： 1990! 看下去，你會看到酒莊的名稱Pieve Santa Restituta. 有趣的是，再看下去，你會看到他的批發商竟然是是Gaja (Gaja Distribuzione Selcetion)……
Pieve Santa Restituta的前身是La Chiesa di San Restituta，於70年代由Roberto Bellini成立。教堂坐落在酒莊所在的村子：Tavernelle （在Montalcino的西面）。Chiesa是教堂的意思，而San Restituta（Santa Restituta）是一位非洲出生的聖人，于西元3-4世紀出生，除了在Tavernelle外，在南部拿波里還有一座更名氣和規模的La Chiesa di San Restituta。

90年代初，相信Gaja已經介入釀造Brunello的流程，不過，在舊的年份，包括之前的90年，仍可看到莊主Roberto Bellini的名字。在70，80年代沒有Gaja的影響，La Chiesa di San Restituta就是相中的模樣。Roberto Bellini在1994年賣了90%給Gaja，1999年就把餘下的10%賣給Gaja！
Gaja買Pieve Santa Restituta的原因，明顯不過：Gaja看重Brunello 的發展，想把Gaja的版圖拓展至Toscana。但Roberto Bellini為何賣La Chiesa di San Restituta給Gaja，卻有兩個版本：
1. Roberto Bellini十分喜歡他的Brunello，但感到自己的能力有限，他覺得Gaja能夠把他的Brunello發揚光大，能讓更多人認識！
2. Roberto Bellini沒有把最好的田賣給Gaja，在1996賣了一部份給Gaja，自己還擁有最優質的葡萄田，與Cannoni-Mazzi family在同年成立了Podere Brizio！
一段歷史，化成幾個不同的酒莊，不同的Lable，有趣！70和80年代的La Chiesa di San Restituta難找，朋友喝過，讚歎不已。90年代的Pieve Santa Restituta還可以找到一點！90年代的Podere Brizio也不好找！
誰是誰非，我不知道，我感興趣的只是那一瓶酒(90-95的Pieve Santa Restituta、1996-1999的Pieve Santa Restituta，現在的Pieve Santa Restituta，還是現在的Podere Brizio)與70/80年代的La Chiesa di San Restituta最相似！
註: Gaja的Pieve Santa Restituta現在有兩瓶酒，上述的Rennina(Brunello blended from different vineyards)和Sugarille(Single cru)。La Chiesa di San Restituta以前好像沒有分cru的，這個概念可能是有Gaja引進，不竟，Cru的概念在Piedmont比較流行！
